Introduction to Discipline & Grievance

Dealing with employee's misconduct, in our experience, causes employers most difficulty. The Statutory Procedures remain a mystery to some employers still and the majority of questions addressed to our  "Experts" still concern misconduct in some shape or other.

The Statutory Procedures appear in the main sections of our site but "how do we deal with employees who  are on long term sick?"; "should we have back to work interviews?" "can an employee secretly tape a disciplinary hearing and use this in evidence against us at a Tribunal?"

These are the sorts of questions that are answered in this segment.

Where appropriate, always refer to the legal advice provided by your insurance policy, prior to embarking on a disciplinary case.
